Testing

How to choose the right test for your app before people use it

Testing your whole app sounds like a lot. It does not have to be. The trick is choosing how much to test based on what a customer must finish.

Start with the path that makes you money

Write down the one thing a customer has to do for your app to work for them. Signing up, paying, getting a first result. That path is a flow.

Pick the scope

- One flow: you have one main path and want to know it works on a phone and a computer. - Up to three flows: you are about to launch and want a clear go or no-go. - A full app pass: you have many screens and users, and want everything looked at.

What a good test tells you

What broke, how to make it break again, and what to fix first. If a test only says "it failed," it is not enough to act on.

Do a quick one yourself first

Try your main path on your phone with a friend watching. Do not help them. Note every place they pause.

If you would like an outside test with a clear report, we can look at your app and tell you what to fix first. Take a look at Test My App.
